ABOUT TERRESTRIAL X

Terrestrial X designs and builds dual-use hardware systems — platforms and equipment with both civil and defence applications — for aerospace, defence, energy, and critical infrastructure. We also contract-manufacture mission-critical parts for the same industries. Additive manufacturing, sheet and tube fabrication, forming, welding, CNC, and powder coating, under one roof in Edmonton. We are not only a job shop running other people’s drawings. We build our own systems, and we build customer hardware. Same floor. Same standard. Parts and systems leave this building that have to work the first time — packed right, received right, and with the paperwork attached.

THE ROLE

You own shipping and receiving. You pack jobs so they arrive in one piece. You receive what comes in the door, check it, put it where it belongs, and get the paperwork into the ERP. You print packing slips, close shipments, and keep the dock and staging area from turning into a pile.

When shipping is caught up, you are not sitting down. You organize the floor as directed. You restock. You count inventory. You run parts between cells. You support fabrication, powder coat, additive, and CNC as needed.

Good attitude is not optional. Reliable is not optional. You show up, you work, you help, you leave the place better than you found it. People who sulk, disappear, or protect their “” do not last.

There is room to grow here if you are the right fit — more process, more machines, more responsibility. If you are the wrong fit, you will not stay just so we have a body on the floor. We would rather run short than keep the wrong person.

WHAT YOU WILL DO Shipping & Receiving
- Pack outbound shipments so they arrive intact — right part, right qty, right protection, right label.
- Receive inbound freight. Check against the PO / packing slip. Flag shortages, damage, and wrong material immediately.
- Create and attach packing slips. Enter shipments and receipts in the ERP. No “I’ll key it later.”
- Keep shipping paperwork organized and audit-ready: packing slips, bills of lading, CoCs that travel with the part, incoming certs.
- Organize staging, incoming, and outgoing so the floor can find things and trucks can load without a scavenger hunt.
- Assist with inventory counts, restocking, and general shop flow.
- Run parts and materials between work centres, and off-site when needed.

Shop Floor Support
- Organize the shop floor as directed. Sweep, stage, label, put away. A messy floor is your problem too.
- Support other work centres as needed. When fabrication, coating, additive, or CNC needs a body, you are that body.

Fabrication Support
- Operate the bandsaw. Cut raw material to spec.
- Grind, deburr, and finish metal components.
- Powder-coat prep: clean, mask, sand, handle parts without wrecking the surface.
- Light MIG and TIG — basic weld passes, tacking, and fixture work under supervision.
- Assist with general fabrication, assembly, and production as needed.

Additive Manufacturing & CNC Support
- Help the print farm: machine prep, material loading, part removal, post-processing.
- Support CNC: prep material, load and unload parts, simple operations under guidance.
- Run parts between departments and do basic quality checks (count, visual, obvious misses). If something looks wrong, you say so before it moves.

MUST HAVE
- Mechanical aptitude and comfort working hands-on with tools and equipment.
- Hands-on shop or warehouse experience — shipping/receiving, fabrication helper, or both.
- Experience with some combination of: bandsaws, angle grinders, basic MIG/TIG, powder-coat prep, basic CNC.



3D printing is an asset.
- Strong attention to detail. You can follow instructions and you operate safely.
- Ability to lift 40–50 lbs and stand for extended periods.
- Valid driver’s license and your own reliable transportation.
- Clean record. Able to pass a criminal record check.
- Eligible to work in Canada and able to work fully on-site in Edmonton.

STRONG ASSETS
- Shipping / receiving in a manufacturing shop, not just a retail stockroom.
- ERP experience (packing slips, receipts, inventory transactions).
- Forklift or pallet-jack experience.
- 3D printing / additive support.
- Time behind a MIG or TIG torch.
- Controlled Goods / ITAR awareness — some of what moves through this dock is not ordinary freight.

WHO SHOULD NOT APPLY
- Anyone who thinks shipping is sitting on a stool waiting for a truck.
- Anyone who will not grind, cut, pack, sweep, or weld because “that’s not shipping.”
- Anyone looking for a warm seat and a paycheck while we pretend this is working.
- Clock-watchers, phone-watchers, and people who need their feelings managed before the work gets done.
- No driver’s license, no vehicle, or unable to pass a criminal record check.
- Divas.

WHO WILL THRIVE
- A go-getter who likes a shop that stays busy.
- Someone who takes pride in a clean dock, a correct packing slip, and a part that arrives undamaged.
- A person who will learn welding, printers, and powder prep because that is how this shop works — and who wants more responsibility when they prove they can carry it.

THE JOB Full time. On-site. Shop hours, with overtime when a shipment or a job demands it.
