Job Summary

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Shop Manager to lead and oversee daily operations within our service and maintenance facility. As the Shop Manager, you will be responsible for coordinating the repair, maintenance, and servicing of heavy machinery, industrial equipment, and automotive vehicles. Your leadership will ensure efficient workflow, high-quality work standards, and exceptional customer service.

Duties

- Supervise daily shop activities, including scheduling repairs, maintenance, and inspections of heavy equipment such as excavators, cranes, forklifts, and farm machinery
- Coordinate with technicians and mechanics to ensure timely completion of work orders while maintaining safety standards
- Oversee inventory management of parts, tools, and supplies necessary for equipment repair and maintenance
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and promote a safe working environment for all staff
- Provide technical guidance on mechanical, electrical, hydraulic schematics, and troubleshooting procedures
- Maintain detailed records of repairs, maintenance logs, and service reports for all equipment serviced in the shop




- Foster excellent customer service by communicating effectively with clients regarding repair status and recommendations

Requirements

- Proven experience in dealership or heavy equipment shop management with strong leadership skills
- Hands-on experience operating or repairing excavators, cranes, forklifts, or other heavy machinery
- Mechanical knowledge of Caterpillar equipment or similar brands is highly desirable
- Skilled in using hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and assembly techniques
- Familiarity with electrical systems, schematics, HVAC systems, and automotive repair processes
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and operate heavy equipment as needed
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in maintenance records and schematics interpretation
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate technical information clearly to clients and team members
