: To provide clinical and related services to individuals who are admitted to the Mental Health Inpatient units in order to facilitate their early discharge and recovery in the community. This position reports administratively to the Senior Social Worker who reports to the Manager of the Acute Care Mental Health. The Senior position is located at the Royal University Hospital site.

The Manager of Acute Care reports to the general Manager of Mental Health and Addiction Services. Staff within this program work as a team and are accountable to each other. Because of the varied needs of clients, staff rely extensively on external resources and often work in partnership with families, other caregivers, agencies, and organizations in the community.

Experience

- 1 year supervised post degree experience
- 1 yr experience in a mental health or hospital setting required

Education

- Bachelor of Social Work (BSW)

- Ability to work effectively with individuals who may be acutely ill

- Knowledge in various mental disorders, etiology, treatment and intervention
- Ability to develop, evaluate and modify programming provided to clients
