Qualifications

- Early Childhood Education diploma or degree (RECE)
- Membership is in Good Standing with the Collage of Early Childhood Educator (RECE)
- Familiar with implementing and documenting Emergent Curriculum, ELECT Document and How Does Learning Happen (RECE)
- Experience working with children infant to 6 years of age.
- Ability to communicate clearly and in a courteous manner towards children, parents, members of the Centre and public, both verbally and in writing.
- Able to lead and work cooperatively with team members.
- Ability to be flexible, to show initiative and work independently.
- Attend monthly evening meetings and functions as required.
- Willingness to participate in professional development opportunities.
- Ability to stand long periods of times, to lift objects and children, to bend and work at the height of children.
- Willingness to work in conditions involving exposure to bodily fluids, infectious diseases.
- Clear understanding of and commitment to workplace health and safety standards requirements.
- Able to move and lift children or equipment daily

Requirements:
- A current Health Assessment, up to date immunization including a TB test or Letter of Conscience/Religious exemptions.




- Vulnerable Police Criminal Reference Check (Within past 6 months)
- Standard Infant and Child First Aid (Valid)

Responsibilities
- Responsible for the safety and supervision of children indoors and outdoors as well as on field trips
- Plan, implement & document age-appropriate programs according to Centre requirements.
- Work cooperatively with team members and other staff.
- Establish and maintain a supportive and teaching relationship with the children.
- Establish and maintain an excellent relationship with parents.
- Fulfill all administrative duties as required.
- Successful employee will be paid at ECE grid plus applicable grants.
