Become a Shelter Resource Worker with Lookout Housing and Health Society in Surrey, BC, aiding those facing homelessness. This casual position involves providing critical support to shelter guests 24/7.
As a Shelter Resource Worker, you will assist in various capacities at Crawford Manor, focusing on the needs of adults struggling with homelessness and health issues. With a commitment to minimal barriers, your role will include conducting intakes and facilitating access to community support services while upholding Lookout’s Code of Ethics.
Key Responsibilities:
• Provide direct support and supervision to individuals in the shelter • Process referrals and connect guests to external resources • Conduct interviews and dispense basic necessities • Keep accurate records and maintain statistical information • Foster a protected, supportive environment for all shelter guests
Requirements: • Minimum Grade 12 education or related Certificate • Two years of relevant experience preferred • Occupational First Aid Level 1 Certificate • Crisis Intervention training considered an asset • Clean Criminal Record Clearance for Vulnerable Sector
