The Opportunity

We are hiring a Systems Analyst and Developer to join the School of Medicine. Serving as the technical lead for medical education and healthcare technology systems within the School of Medicine (SoM), the Systems Analyst and Developer will provide technical guidance on system architecture, design, and complex issue resolution. They will analyse, develop, implement, integrate and support custom applications, workflows, and system integrations and translate business and technical requirements into functional specifications, system designs, and implementation plans.

Role Responsibilities Include

- Systems analysis,



process engineering and solution design
- Consults and collaborates with stakeholders across SoM units and sections to gather, document, and validate business requirements, translating them to support system design and implementation.
- Leads solution design discussions for assigned systems and recommends fit-for-purpose technologies, architectures and tools based on operational and technical requirements, consulting the Director on decisions requiring policy changes or exceptions to established standards.

- Application and integration development, implementation and optimization

- Develops, enhances, integrates, maintains, and supports applications to improve user experience, performance, usability, and reliability.
- Builds and maintains secure Representational State Transfer Application Programming Interface (RESTful APIs), data integrations, and custom connectors to support internal and external system interoperability.
- Configures and customizes pre-built platforms, including software-as-a-service, open-source or packaged software solutions, by designing and implementing workflows, business rules, forms, notifications, reports, dashboards, portals, and metadata to meet operational requirements.

- Workflow optimization

- Identifies opportunities to reduce duplication of work, and improve collaboration, by building and supporting lightweight workflow efficiency and automation tools using low-code and scripting technologies
- Automates routine tasks, notifications, approvals, data collection, statuses, and reporting processes.

- Data analysis and management

- Conducts data analysis by querying, linking and analyzing data from multiple sources, and develops, maintains, and enhances automation and integration solutions
- Ensures compliance with TMU data management, privacy, and security policies, by participating in operational, compliance, and regulatory reporting activities

- Technical support

- Troubleshoots and resolves complex system issues, including application defects, integration failures, and performance and access issues
- Designs and delivers training and knowledge-sharing sessions for diverse audiences

Qualifications To help us learn more about you, please provide a cover letter and resume describing how you meet the following required qualifications:

- Completion of a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, or related field.
- A minimum of four (4) years of progressively responsible experience in systems analysis and application development, including implementing, supporting, and maintaining large-scale systems in a higher education, healthcare, or comparable environment.
- Experience working with enterprise or specialized academic and healthcare technology systems,e.g.

Customer Relationship

Management (CRM), Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP),





- Electronic Medical Record (EMR), Learning Management System (LMS) or comparable platforms, and supporting data analysis and reporting activities.
- Demonstrated proficiency in application development using scripting and programming languages (e.g., JavaScript, Google AppScript, Python or similar technologies);
- Demonstrated proficiency in API development, RESTful services, and system integrations;
- Expertise with implementing security and privacy standards relevant to educational, healthcare, and research environments;
- Advanced expertise in SQL, including stored procedures, performance tuning, and Extract, Transform, Load (ETL) processes;
- Proficiency in data visualization and reporting platforms (e.g., Google Data Studio, Power BI, Tableau, or similar tools);
- Familiarity with Artificial Intelligence (AI) assisted development tools and automation technologies, including prompt engineering, and model-driven application enhancement;
- Solid analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills;
