IT Support Administrator (Infrastructure & End-User Support)
Part-Time Contract (2 Days/Week) | Hybrid – Downtown Toronto
Systematix is currently looking for an intermediate level, Part/Time, IT Support/Administrator (User & Server) to support and enhance a Microsoft-based infrastructure environment for one of our valued non-profit clients. This is an excellent chance for an experienced infrastructure support professional who enjoys working across systems administration, virtualization, networking, security, and end-user support within a collaborative, community-focused organization.
ABOUT THE PROJECT
This role is ideal for a self-starter who thrives in a small, close-knit IT team where initiative and versatility are highly valued. You’ll be responsible for supporting the organization’s core infrastructure while providing both deskside and remote end-user support.
We’re looking for someone who is equally comfortable acting as both a builder and an administrator—someone who can identify opportunities for improvement, implement practical solutions, and ensure the ongoing stability, security, and performance of the IT environment.
ABOUT THE RESPONSIBILITIES
As the IT Support Administrator, you will:
- Provide hands-on infrastructure administration and end-user technical support across Windows-based environments.
- Administer and maintain Microsoft Windows Server, Active Directory, and Microsoft 365 environments.
- Configure, manage, and troubleshoot Hyper-V virtualization infrastructure, including clustered environments and migration issues.
- Support Microsoft Entra ID (Azure AD), Microsoft 365 tenant administration, identity management, and security controls.
- Administer Mobile Device Management (MDM), patch management, and endpoint support activities.
- Implement, configure, and maintain NAS, SAN, backup,
and replication technologies.
- Configure, administer, and troubleshoot business-class firewalls, including:
- High Availability (HA)
- Remote Access VPN
- Intrusion Prevention/Detection (IPS/IDS) policies
- Support Cisco and Juniper networking environments.
- Monitor and maintain IT security controls while assisting with information security reporting and compliance activities.
- Maintain technical documentation, operational procedures, and security policies.
- Ensure compliance with audit requirements, change management procedures, and data security standards.
- Deliver exceptional deskside and remote customer support while collaborating with internal stakeholders.
ABOUT THE REQUIREMENTS
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 3 years of experience supporting Microsoft Windows Server and Windows Client environments.
- Experience designing, implementing, and administering Active Directory domains and forests.
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft 365 and Microsoft Entra ID (Azure AD), including:
- Identity Management
- Single Sign-On (SSO)
- Security Controls
- Hands-on experience building, administering, and troubleshooting Hyper-V virtualization environments.
- Experience troubleshooting Hyper-V cluster failures and virtual machine migration issues.
- Experience implementing and supporting NAS and SAN storage solutions.
- Working knowledge of enterprise backup and replication technologies.
- Minimum 2 years of experience administering business-class firewalls.
- Experience configuring:
- Firewall High Availability (HA)
- Remote Access VPN
- Intrusion Prevention/Detection (IPS/IDS)
- Basic knowledge of Cisco and Juniper networking equipment.
- Experience administering Microsoft 365 tenants, identity management, and access controls.
- Understanding of Information Security principles with experience supporting security reporting and compliance initiatives.
- Experience supporting audit requirements, change management, and data security processes.
- Solid understanding of networking fundamentals with the ability to clearly articulate knowledge of Hyper-V, Active Directory, routers, and firewalls.
- Exceptional troubleshooting, communication, and customer service skills.
Nice to Have
- Experience administering enterprise backup and replication environments.
- Post-secondary education in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related discipline (or equivalent practical experience).
- CCNA certification or equivalent networking experience.
- Experience supporting Unix and/or Linux environments.
- Experience working with IT Service Management (ITSM) or support ticketing systems.
ABOUT THE ROLE
- Duration: 6 Months, 2 days per week, Hybrid – Downtown Toronto
- Onsite Requirement: 1–2 days per week in the downtown Toronto office (9:00 AM – 5:00 PM)

PAY DISCLOSURE
- Contract Rate: $40-45/hour Inc.
