Join AgeCare as a Therapeutic Recreation Aide and contribute to residents’ engagement and well-being. You will help create recreational opportunities that foster meaningful relationships in a supportive setting.
In this role, the Therapeutic Recreation Aide will support recreational activities and document resident progress in a healthcare environment. You'll ensure all recreational supplies are well-maintained and assist in evaluating the effectiveness of programs. Flexibility in work hours, including evenings and weekends, is essential, and there may be travel involved for education.
Key Responsibilities:
• Document resident assessments and care planning accurately • Participate in quality improvement initiatives for recreation programs • Maintain recreation equipment according to infection control protocols • Adapt to wide-ranging shifts and schedules including weekdays and weekends • Travel within the province for education and meetings as necessary
Requirements: • Certificate, diploma, or degree in a relevant field • Enrollment in a post-secondary Recreation and Leisure program • Experience related to recreation services in long-term care • Strong adaptability to changing priorities in care settings • Willingness to provide a Vulnerable Sector Check
