What is the opportunity?

We are seeking a winter co-op to provide operational and administrative support to the Trading Room. As part of a dynamic team, you will have the opportunity to propose and implement automation and streamline processes where applicable.

What will you do?

- Provide administrative support to the trading desk.
- Assist in the input the reconciliation of previous day trading activity.
- Act as a liaison between trading and operations staff.
- Ensure timely and accurate settlement of all trades.
- Identify trade settlement issues while offering solutions to minimize risks or costs.
- Pro-actively offer solutions for streamlining processes and/or procedures

What do you need to succeed?

Must Have

- Knowledge of Excel with the ability to use and maintain macros.
- Must be a self-starter that can thrive in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong oral and written skills.
- Ability to multi-task and prioritize issues.
- Team player with a positive attitude.

Nice to Have

- Robust analytical skills, with the ability to investigate intricate trade discrepancies and recommend a course of action.
- Familiarity with trading terminology and back-office processes.
- Working knowledge to any of the following systems: Charles River, Bloomberg, PCView, DTCC, GTSS, CloudMargin

Please note:

In order to be eligible for these student positions, you must either:

- Be returning back to school after the work term end-date; or
- If you are not returning back to school (i.e. are graduating immediately after the work term), you must require the full work term as a mandatory component in order to graduate successfully
