We are seeking a motivated and skilled Truck Driver - Class 1 to join our dynamic transportation team! In this vital role, you will be responsible for safely operating commercial trucks in the oil and gas sector and across various routes. Your expertise in heavy equipment operation, and freight handling will ensure timely deliveries while maintaining the highest safety standards.

Duties

- Plan or adjust routes based on changing conditions, using computer equipment, global positioning systems (GPS) equipment, or other navigation devices, to minimize fuel consumption and carbon emissions
- Address customers' complaints or concerns
- Coach colleagues on new methods or work techniques
- Professionalism in customer service
- Arrange travel, related itineraries and make reservations
- Load and unload goods
- Operate and drive straight or articulated trucks to transport goods and materials
- Oversee condition of vehicle and inspect tires, lights, brakes, cold storage and other equipment
- Perform brake adjustments
- Perform emergency roadside repairs
- Perform pre-trip,



en route and post-trip inspection and oversee all aspects of vehicle
- Perform preventive maintenance
- Receive and relay information to central dispatch
- Record cargo information, hours of service, distance travelled and fuel consumption
- Tarping and ensuring safety and security of cargo
- Transport and handle dangerous goods

Skills

- Valid Class 1 commercial driver’s license with a clean driving record
- Proven experience in commercial driving and freight transportation
- Knowledge of freight handling procedures and safety protocols
- Strong mechanical aptitude with basic pre-trip, in-route and post trip inspection skills
- Excellent communication skills for coordinating with team members and clients
