Operating since 2012, Bizi Transport Inc. supports Oil & Gas operations across Canada with specialized hauling services including frac sand, sulphur, chemical, cryogenic, and other bulk commodities.

The Role

We are looking for an experienced trucking dispatcher with oilfield or heavy haul exposure to join our operations team.

This role manages a large fleet operating across multiple service lines and jurisdictions, and requires someone who understands the realities of commercial trucking operations.

Experience in trucking, oilfield logistics, or heavy equipment operations is essential.

Former Class 1 drivers, oilfield dispatchers, or logistics professionals with hands-on trucking knowledge are strongly encouraged to apply.

This is a fast-paced, high-pressure operations role. It is not suited to someone looking for a quiet desk job or predictable workdays.

Key Responsibilities

- Dispatch company and third-party trucks across multiple provinces and service lines
- Coordinate frac and cryogenic operations
- Communicate continuously with drivers, lease operators, customers, and field teams
- Manage last-minute operational changes while maintaining safety and service standards
- Monitor driver hours of service, resets, days off, shift coverage, and availability to maintain continuous operations
- Coordinate driver scheduling, rotations, accommodations, travel, and crew changes across operating regions
- Track truck and trailer availability and coordinate equipment swaps, repairs, recoveries, and mobilizations with Maintenance
- Respond to breakdowns, delays, site shutdowns, equipment issues, and changing customer requirements by reorganizing dispatch plans in real time
- Work with the Logistics Manager and HR to coordinate driver onboarding into active operations, including mentoring, training, customer/site orientations, and competency requirements
- Maintain accurate operational records, load information, dispatch documentation, and customer-specific reporting requirements
- Monitor job progress, inventory/load requirements, and changing customer demand to adjust fleet deployment
- Coordinate the mobilization and demobilization of equipment between projects, yards, and customer locations
- Prepare detailed shift-change reports to ensure continuity between dispatch teams
- Escalate safety, performance, equipment, and operational concerns to the appropriate department or supervisor
- Balance competing priorities across multiple active projects while maintaining driver utilization and customer service




- Prioritize and coordinate multiple time-sensitive operations simultaneously in a fast-paced, continuously changing environment

- Permit requirements
- Over-dimensional movements
- Commercial vehicle weight and dimension requirements
- Dangerous goods transportation requirements (TDG)
- Electronic logging devices (ELDs) and driver log compliance
- Provincial and interprovincial commercial transportation requirements
- Oilfield and resource-road operations, including site access and road conditions
- Maintain accurate dispatch records and keep dispatch software systems current
- Handle high call volumes across phone, email, and messaging platforms
- Audit work orders to support accurate billing and compliance

What You Bring

Required

- Minimum 2 years of dispatch experience in commercial trucking, oilfield transportation, bulk hauling, or a comparable workplace
- Demonstrated understanding of commercial trucking operations, driver scheduling, Hours of Service, equipment utilization, and fleet coordination
- Experience coordinating multiple drivers, trucks, loads, and customer requirements simultaneously
- Ability to make time-sensitive operational decisions independently and adjust plans as conditions change
- Proven ability to work effectively in a high-volume dispatch environment with frequent interruptions and competing priorities
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to communicate clearly with drivers, customers, field personnel, maintenance teams, and management
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to remain organized and effective when dealing with breakdowns, delays, driver availability, equipment constraints, and changing customer requirements
- Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate information across multiple active jobs and systems
- Comfortable working with phones, email, messaging platforms, dispatch software, and other operational systems simultaneously

Strongly Preferred

- Previous Class 1 commercial driving experience




- Experience dispatching oilfield, frac sand, cryogenic, bulk commodity, or specialized transportation operations
- Experience coordinating 24-hour operations, day/night shifts, driver rotations, and remote field work
- Working knowledge of Alberta oilfield operations, resource roads, field logistics, and customer site requirements
- Experience coordinating operations across multiple provinces
- Familiarity with specialized equipment, including Super B configurations, bulk trailers, and other specialized commercial equipment

Work Environment This is a high-intensity transportation operations role, not a traditional office-based scheduling position. The successful candidate must be comfortable working in an environment where priorities can change quickly and several operational issues may require attention at the same time.

- Workdays are often unpredictable, and priorities can change throughout a shift
- Dispatchers are responsible for coordinating multiple active operations simultaneously
- Drivers and field teams rely on Dispatch for timely direction and problem-solving
- Breakdowns, weather, road conditions, Hours of Service, customer changes, equipment availability, and site delays can require plans to be adjusted with little notice
- The role involves frequent phone calls, messages, emails, and interruptions while maintaining accurate operational information
- Decisions often need to be made quickly using the information available at the time
- Strong organization, composure, judgment, and the ability to prioritize competing demands are essential
- This position is best suited to someone who genuinely enjoys complex logistics, problem-solving, fast-paced decision-making, and being at the centre of transportation operations
