Responsibilities
- Assist veterinarians and technicians during examinations, treatments, and surgeries by restraining animals and preparing necessary equipment.
- Maintain cleanliness of treatment rooms, kennels, and surgical areas to uphold the highest standards of hygiene.
- Provide basic animal care such as feeding, bathing, and administering medications under supervision.
- Monitor animal behavior and health status, alerting staff to any concerns or changes.
- Support client communication by explaining procedures, answering questions, and providing reassurance to pet owners.
- Manage inventory of medical supplies and ensure all equipment is sterilized and ready for use.
- Document treatment details accurately in patient records to ensure seamless continuity of care.
Skills
- Previous laboratory experience is highly desirable to assist with diagnostic procedures and sample handling.
- Strong animal handling skills with patience, compassion, and confidence in restraining various species.
- Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with team members and clients.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
