The Events Director is in charge of planning and executing a wide array of HR events and spearheading the HR Conference.

Time Commitment Approx. 5-10 hrs/week throughout the school year
Term of EmploymentSeptember 2026 - April 2027
Main Responsibilities
- Work closely with the Chair and Vice Chair to develop events that aim to add value to UBC students
- Oversee event operations, including comprehensive event outlines
and time-stepping for all members
- Put on a variety of events, ensuring that they align with DiscoveHR’s
mission
- Collaborate across departments for outreach and event execution
- Collaborate with all portfolios during the year to carry out
conference plans in an effective and timely manner
- Lead all portfolios in the planning process of the conference
- Attend weekly meetings and assist with other club initiatives as needed
Qualifications
- Able to develop a big picture for events while remaining detail-oriented
- Strong public speaking skills
- Exceptional organization and time management skills
- Robust leadership skills
- Creative, innovative & supportive
- Prior event planning and/or logistical experiences are an asset
