Job Summary: We are currently seeking a motivated individual who is eager to learn, committed to maintaining a safe and healthy workplace, and dedicated to ensuring the delivery of quality products for the position of Wheelabrator Operator at our McCabe Steel Branch in Stoney Creek.

Please note - our work environment is safety sensitive and will require the successful applicant to undergo a pre-employment medical and drug evaluation.

Hours of Work: Rotating every 2 weeks: Days (7am-3pm) / Afternoons (3pm-11pm)

Job Responsibilities

- Ability to learn to operate a Wheelabrator machine in a secure and satisfactory manner
- Able to complete paperwork related to pre-start inspections and finished work orders
- Able to operate a forklift and overhead crane (in house training and certification is provided if not presently certified)
- Ensuring safe procedures are followed while performing job responsibilities
- Complying with workplace policies and procedures (operational and health and safety)

Requirements

- Grade 12 or equivalent
- Able to perform some heavy lifting
- Able to accommodate shift work
- Good knowledge of math and measurements
- Effective communication skills
- Self-motivated, results-driven, and attention to detail
- Highly safety-oriented, strong situational awareness
- Strong sense of personal accountability
