Support women and children at Homeward Family Shelter as a Women's Advocate. This role involves crisis intervention, advocacy, and comprehensive support in a collaborative team environment. As a Women's Advocate, you'll work to provide essential services through a feminist framework.
Collaborate with a team to deliver support in crisis intervention, risk assessments, and safety planning, ensuring an effective path to independence for residents. A commitment to addressing issues of violence and oppression is required. Key Responsibilities:
- Act as an advocate for women and children
- Provide crisis intervention via phone and in-person
- Conduct intakes, assessments, and safety planning
- Assist with housing applications and resources
- Coordinate program activities for women’s empowerment Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., BSW)
- 2+ years in counseling and group work
- Knowledge of trauma, woman abuse, and violence prevention
- Robust communication and interpersonal skills
