KeyResponsibilities
- Install, maintain,inspect, and repair industrial plumbing and pipingsystems.
- Troubleshoot water supply, drainage,sewer, hot-water, steam, compressed-air, and process-watersystems.
- Repair and replace pipes, valves,pumps, fixtures, backflow-prevention devices, and relatedequipment.
- Respond promptly to leaks,blockages, equipment failures, and other urgent maintenanceissues.
- Perform preventive and correctivemaintenance according to establishedschedules.
- Read and interpret blueprints,technical drawings, piping diagrams, and equipmentmanuals.
- Support plant renovation, equipmentinstallation, and continuous-improvementprojects.
- Complete work orders and accuratelydocument inspections, repairs, parts, and maintenanceactivities.
- Work safely around productionequipment, chemicals, wet environments, and confinedspaces.
- Follow all GMP, HACCP, food-safety,sanitation, lockout/tagout, and company safetyrequirements.
- Coordinate maintenance activitieswith production, sanitation, contractors, and othertrades.
- Maintain tools, parts, and work areasin a clean and organized condition.
- Participatein the plant’s after-hours or emergency call-out rotation whenrequired.
- Perform other maintenance dutieswithin the scope of theposition.
Qualifications
- ValidJourneyperson Plumber certification;
Red Seal endorsement isstrongly preferred.
- Previous industrialplumbing experience is required;
food-processing or meat-productionexperience is an asset.
- Experience working withstainless-steel piping, process-water, steam, drainage, andcompressed-air systems is preferred.
- Ability toread technical drawings, schematics, andspecifications.
- Knowledge of applicableplumbing codes and occupational health and safetyrequirements.
- Strong communication skills andthe ability to work independently and as part of a maintenanceteam.
Physical and WorkRequirements
- Ability to lift andcarry up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to stand, walk,bend, kneel, climb ladders, and work in confinedspaces.
- Comfortable working in refrigerated,warm, wet, noisy, and physically demandingenvironments.
- Ability to work around raw meatproducts, food-processing equipment, and sanitationchemicals.
- Willingness to work flexible schedule,including evenings, nights, weekends, overtime, and emergencycall-outs when required.
- Required to wearappropriate personal protective equipment and follow strict hygieneand sanitation procedures.#INDbluecollar
