Work Mode and Location: Hullmark Centre at 4789 Yonge St Floor 12 - Unit 1201, North York, ON M2N 0G3 Work Type and Compensation: Flexible, Part -Time (10 - 15 Hours / Week) Pay Type: Hourly ($17.95) Start Date: October 1st, 2026 Position Overview: MyEthnikRentals is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Seamstress who is familiar with South Asian attire and tailoring, particularly lehengas, saree blouses, salwar kameez, anarkalis, kurtas, sherwanis, and other ethnic garments. You will play a key role in ensuring every rental garment is properly fitted, maintained, repaired, and prepared for clients. Your primary responsibilities will include conducting minor alterations, adjusting garments for different body types, repairing garments, maintaining garment quality, and preparing outfits for upcoming rentals. What You’ll Do: Garment Preparation & Adjustments ● Conduct minor alterations on lehengas, saree blouses, salwar kameez, anarkalis, kurtas, sherwanis, and other South Asian garments to ensure proper fit. ● Adjust blouse closures, opening or tightening them as needed to accommodate various body types while maintaining comfort and structure.



● Repair and reinforce loose threads, embellishments, hooks, buttons, seams, or zippers as needed. ● Perform minor repairs on heavily embroidered, sequined, or embellished garments. ● Steam, press, and prepare garments for upcoming rentals and fittings. ● Receive items back after the rental period and conduct a quality check of all rental items. ● Identify garments requiring repair, alteration, or maintenance before the next rental. ● Maintain all sewing tools, equipment, and work areas in organized and functional condition. ● Maintain garments in a clean, organized, and presentable condition. Physical Requirements: ● This position involves constant moving, reaching, grabbing, and standing for long periods of time. ● May occasionally involve stooping, kneeling, or crouching. What You’ll Need: ● Proven experience as a seamstress, tailor, or garment alteration professional. ● Solid understanding of South Asian garment construction, particularly lehengas, sarees , salwar kameez, anarkalis, kurtas, and sherwanis. ● Ability to assess garment fit and determine the appropriate alteration or repair needed. ● Solid sewing, alteration, and garment-finishing skills. ● Experience working with delicate, embroidered, sequined, beaded, and embellished fabrics. ● Excellent attention to detail and a high standard of workmanship. ● Ability to work independently and manage multiple garments with different deadlines. ● Good organizational and time-management skills. ● Ability to work carefully with rental garments while preserving their structure, appearance, and longevity. ● Flexibility to work evenings and weekends as needed.
