Are you an experienced building professional looking to combine your technical expertise with regulatory compliance and customer service excellence?We are seeking a highly motivated Building Surveyor - Building Compliance to join our Building Compliance Team.In this rewarding role, you will play a key part in ensuring buildings meet legislative and safety requirements while supporting customers to achieve positive compliance outcomes through practical advice, collaboration, and expert guidance.About the roleAs a Building Surveyor - Building Compliance, you will be responsible for delivering Territorial Authority functions under the Building Act while supporting our community to achieve positive compliance outcomes. Working as part of a collaborative team, you'll provide practical advice, investigate compliance matters, and help ensure buildings are safe and fit for purpose.Your key responsibilities will include:Investigating building compliance service requestsConducting site inspections and compliance assessmentsAssessing building safety concerns and regulatory mattersProcessing Certificates of Acceptance and exemption applicationsIssuing notices and compliance-related documentationProviding advice and support to customers on building compliance mattersReport writing and maintaining accurate recordsManaging workloads to meet statutory timeframesThis is a full-time permanent role, Monday to Friday, based in Rolleston.About youYou will be a confident communicator with a positive, approachable attitude and the ability to build effective relationships with customers and colleagues. You'll also be comfortable taking direction, responding to feedback, and contributing positively as part of a collaborative team.Our ideal candidate will:Have at least 5 years' experience in the building industry across a variety of New Zealand building projectsHave at least 3 years' experience in a regulatory compliance or similar compliance environmentHave excellent communication,
