Role Description The Drywall Estimator is a full-time, hybrid role based in the Greater Toronto Area, Canada, with some flexibility for work from home. In this position, the estimator reviews architectural drawings, specifications, and site information to prepare accurate quantity takeoffs and cost estimates for drywall and acoustical systems. Day-to-day tasks include analyzing project scope, preparing bid proposals, coordinating with project managers and site supervisors, and communicating with clients and suppliers to clarify requirements and pricing. The role involves maintaining estimating databases, tracking bid status,



and participating in project handoffs to ensure smooth execution. The Drywall Estimator is expected to manage multiple tenders simultaneously, meet bid deadlines, and contribute to continuous improvement of estimating processes.

Qualifications

- Experience with drywall estimating in commercial/highrise construction including reading and interpreting construction drawings and specifications.
- Proficiency with estimating software, Excel, and other relevant digital tools used for quantity takeoffs and cost analysis.
- Strong numerical, analytical, and organizational skills to manage multiple bids and deadlines with attention to detail.
- Effective communication and collaboration skills for working with project managers, site teams, clients, and suppliers.
- Knowledge of construction practices, building materials, and industry pricing in the Greater Toronto Area.
- Ability to work independently in a hybrid environment, balancing office, site visits, and remote work as needed.
- Post-secondary education in construction management, engineering, architecture, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- Prior experience as an estimator or in a related construction role; drywall or interior systems experience is an asset.
