Maternity Leave Replacement

The Quebec City Marriott Downtown is looking for a Group Sales & Events Manager to temporarily join our Sales team.

Reporting to the Director of Sales & Marketing, you will be responsible for developing group and banquet sales, converting incoming leads and assisting clients in planning their events. You will contribute directly to maximizing hotel revenues while delivering a personalized client experience.

Responsibilities

- Handle, qualify and convert group and banquet inquiries, including room blocks, meetings, events and meeting room rentals;
- Develop new business opportunities and follow up with prospective clients;
- Prepare proposals, contracts and required follow-ups to confirm group business;
- Assist clients with event planning and coordinate their needs with hotel departments;
- Participate in the preparation and distribution of Banquet Event Orders (BEOs);
- Provide personalized service to clients before and after their events;
- Track sales activities and prepare required reports;
- Participate in sales meetings, training sessions, client activities and local events;




- Perform other related duties associated with group and event sales development.

Skills & Requirements

- Ability to use advanced functions of various computer systems, including client tracking, inventory control and forecasting tools;
- Creative personality with a strong focus on results and customer service;
- Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail and thoroughness in following up on files;
- Excellent communication skills in both French and English;
- Minimum of three (3) years of customer service experience;
- College diploma in hospitality.
