We are currently seeking an experienced Senior Contract Administrator to support one of Canada's largest public transportation organizations. This role is ideal for a contract management professional with strong post-award commercial management experience in transit, transportation, infrastructure, or other complex operational environments.

Location: North York, ON (Hybrid, 2-3 days in-office)

Duration: 1 year contract initially with possible extensions afterwards

About the Role

As a Senior Contract Administrator, you will be responsible for managing and administering a portfolio of operational and construction contracts that support a large-scale public transportation network. You will work closely with internal stakeholders, vendors, legal teams, and project delivery groups to ensure contractual compliance, mitigate risks, and drive commercial excellence.

Key Responsibilities

- Administer and manage a portfolio of operations and construction contracts from post-award through contract closeout.
- Review and assess vendor submissions including change requests, amendments, invoices, claims, notices, and contractual correspondence.
- Interpret contract documents, tender requirements, and commercial terms to ensure consistent application of contractual obligations.
- Monitor vendor performance and contract compliance while identifying and resolving contractual issues and risks.
- Support claims avoidance, mitigation, and dispute resolution activities.
- Coordinate contract amendments, variations, and change management processes.
- Maintain accurate contract records and documentation within contract management systems.
- Analyze contract data and prepare reports, dashboards, and recommendations for management decision-making.
- Collaborate with legal, procurement, finance, operations,



and project teams on complex contractual matters.
- Support negotiations and enforcement of contractual obligations, including performance remedies and liquidated damages where applicable.
- Escalate significant commercial or contractual issues to senior management as required.

Qualifications

- Minimum 10 years of experience in Contract Administration, Commercial Management, or a related discipline.
- Post-award contract management experience within transit, transportation, infrastructure, public sector, utilities, or similarly complex operational environments.
- Strong understanding of contract law, tendering practices, commercial management principles, and procurement processes.
- Experience administering service, maintenance, operational, or asset management contracts.
- Proven ability to manage multiple contracts and stakeholders simultaneously.
- Solid analytical and problem-solving skills with exceptional attention to detail.
- Experience reviewing contract changes, amendments, claims, invoices, and vendor performance matters.
- Proficiency with contract management systems, reporting tools, and Microsoft Office applications.
- Excellent negotiation, communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills.
- Postsecondary diploma or degree in Business, Finance, Engineering, Supply Chain, Commerce, or a related field.

Preferred Experience

- Experience working with large public agencies, transit authorities, municipalities, or transportation organizations.
- Knowledge of claims management, quality assurance/quality control principles, and commercial risk management.
- Experience supporting operational contracts involving maintenance, fleet, rail, bus, facilities, or transportation services.
