This physically demanding role requires willingness to work hard and earn a competitive hourly wage.Hourly wage:$28.16/hr - $30.42/hr plus meter bonus.Job ResponsibilitiesSafety is paramount. Follow all established policies, procedures, and best practices as well as the law at all times.Safely perform all duties, taking care of equipment and coworkers.Maintain general condition and obtain optimum life out of all site equipment and tools.Possibly train new Driller Assistants in a safe setting.Be physically fit for work.Work under the instructions of a driller/drilling field supervisor or division manager.Work safely, follow EHS policies and procedures, and conduct local risk control.Apply first aid if needed.Support drilling operations: handle rods and drilling tools, collect and handle samples, mix drilling fluids, perform basic maintenance of tools and equipment, housekeeping, supplies count, basic measurement and calculations, basic operator maintenance, complete pre-start checks, refuel vehicles and plant.May be required to operate non-drilling equipment such as light or heavy vehicles, cranes, telehandlers, forklifts, skidders, track-mounted utility vehicles, etc.Monitor a safe workplace,



maintain workplace safety, and apply risk management processes to eliminate work-related injuries, damage to equipment, and incident-related lost time.Maintain accurate operating records, including daily drill reports and inventory logs.Contribute to and establish effective workplace relationships.Provide training through instruction and demonstration of work skills, coaching, and mentoring to other field employees.QualificationsValid First Aid Certificate.Proficient language skills, literacy, and numeracy necessary for all job-related tasks.Labor background considered an asset.Exposure to diamond drilling environments and techniques considered an asset.Must meet the Fitness for Duty program standards.Common Core considered an asset.EEO StatementBoart Longyear welcomes and encourages applications from people with disabilities.
