Edmonton, AB – Remote, with occasional onsite travel as required up to (15% of total hours)

Employment Type:

Contract – 12 Months, with possible 24-month extension

Approved Work Hours:

1,725.50 hours / 36.25 hours per week

About the Role We are seeking an experienced

DevOps Specialist

to support digital transformation initiatives by improving automation, deployment, infrastructure, observability, security, and production operations. The successful candidate will work across multiple projects to enable reliable, secure, and efficient delivery of modern digital services.

This role combines hands‑on DevOps engineering with cloud, CI/CD, infrastructure automation, hybrid cloud, monitoring, testing, and responsible use of AI‑enabled solutions.

Key Responsibilities

Design and implement automation, scripts, tools, and procedures to support reliable deployments and reduce downtime.

Manage production configurations, credentials, maintenance activities, database upgrades, migrations, backups, and recoveries.

Create reusable deployment templates and patterns for

CI/CD pipelines .

Automate the creation and configuration of development and testing environments.

Develop monitoring and telemetry solutions to improve application observability.

Support integration testing, security scanning, system testing, performance testing, and load testing.

Support frequent and controlled releases, including limited-availability Alpha and Beta launches.

Troubleshoot operational issues and provide production support for digital services.

Design and deploy hybrid cloud applications using

Red Hat OpenShift .

Implement

Infrastructure as Code (IaC)

using tools such as Terraform.

Apply security best practices including secrets management and least-privilege principles.





Use automation and approved AI‑enabled solutions to reduce manual processes and improve operational efficiency.

Document issues, solutions, procedures, and operational processes.

Collaborate with cross‑functional delivery teams to promote DevOps and continuous delivery best practices.

Mandatory Skills & Qualifications

13+ years

of experience with research, analysis, and problem solving.

13+ years

documenting technical issues, solutions, and procedures.

2+ years

leveraging

Generative AI and agentic tooling , including prompt design, RAG, workflow automation, and critical evaluation of AI outputs.

13+ years

using access tools such as

SSH clients and Remote Desktop .

13+ years

applying security fundamentals including secrets management and least privilege.

13+ years

working with cloud platforms such as

AWS, GCP, or Azure , including scalable data solutions and pipeline optimization.

14+ years

working with command‑line interfaces for command execution and file‑system traversal.

4+ years

of scripting experience, including

PowerShell .

13+ years

working with networking tools such as DNS lookups, traceroute, and load balancing.

12+ years

of experience as a DevOps Specialist supporting continuous delivery of custom‑built solutions.

2+ years

designing and deploying hybrid cloud applications using

Red Hat OpenShift .

2+ years

experience with

Infrastructure as Code , such as Terraform.

13+ years





experience with VS Code or Visual Studio 2019+.

13+ years

working with

CI/CD pipelines in large‑scale enterprise environments .

Strong troubleshooting, automation, documentation, and collaboration skills.

Preferred Skills

Experience supporting multiple digital transformation or product delivery initiatives.

Solid experience with cloud infrastructure and scalable data pipelines.

Experience with production observability, monitoring, and telemetry.

Experience with automated testing, security scanning, performance testing, and load testing.

Experience implementing AI‑assisted automation and operational workflows.

Experience working in Agile, cross‑functional product delivery environments.
