Location: Christina Lake, Alberta
Schedule: 7 days on, 7 days off; Wednesday-to-Wednesday rotation, including days and nights
Hours: 12-hour shifts; six hours on travel days
Travel: Approximately 20%
Rate: $70–$85/hour T4 or $85–$100/hour incorporated
Transportation: Flights available from Calgary and Edmonton; bus transportation available from Lac La Biche and La Corey
Accommodation: Camp accommodations provided
Position Overview:
We are currently recruiting for a Contract Non-Process Infrastructure (NPI) Trades Advisor to support maintenance activities at a remote thermal oil site near Christina Lake.
Reporting to the NPI Lead, the Trades Advisor will provide field leadership and contractor oversight for the maintenance of non-process buildings, camp facilities, and supporting infrastructure. This position is responsible for coordinating daily work, maintaining strong safety and operational standards, and ensuring contractor activities are completed efficiently and in accordance with site requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide field leadership and oversight for contractors performing NPI maintenance and construction activities.
- Coordinate work involving building operations, electrical systems, network communications, HVAC, plumbing, carpentry, janitorial services, and water and wastewater systems.
- Prioritize and adjust contractor activities based on operational requirements, emerging issues, and changing site priorities.
- Conduct field safety audits, facilitate toolbox meetings, and promote a strong and positive safety culture.
- Coordinate site-wide services, temporary facilities, general labour requirements, and small project execution.
- Work with maintenance leads, planners, and coordinators to support scheduling,
permitting, preventive maintenance, work orders, and job-plan execution.
- Ensure contractor work complies with company policies, procedures, technical standards, and applicable legislation.
- Use SAP or other computerized maintenance management systems to monitor work execution, review labour and equipment reports, and support invoice approvals.
- Investigate incidents, identify root causes, and develop corrective and preventive actions.
- Support budget development, cost tracking, contractor performance management, and cost analysis.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Journeyperson certification in a building-related trade.
- Minimum five years of experience in industrial maintenance or construction environments.
- At least three years of experience providing field leadership, contractor supervision, or work coordination.
- Experience coordinating multidisciplinary building trades and facility-maintenance activities.
- Solid understanding of industrial safety practices, permitting, work planning, and contractor management.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and experience using a computerized maintenance management system.
- SAP experience is considered an asset.
- Project management experience is considered an asset.
- Strong communication, organization, facilitation, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage competing priorities and work independently in a fast-paced field environment.
- Experience working with diverse communities, stakeholders, and multidisciplinary teams is considered an asset.

- Willingness to work at a remote site on a rotating day-and-night schedule.
- Ability to satisfy all required site-access and pre-employment conditions.
