Project Scheduler
Location: Bolton, Ontario, with travel to project sites as required

About the Role
Civicon is seeking an experienced Project Scheduler to develop, maintain, analyze, and report on detailed schedules for major civil and transit infrastructure projects.
The Project Scheduler will work closely with project managers, superintendents, coordinators, estimators, subcontractors, and clients to establish realistic project schedules, monitor progress, identify risks, and support the implementation of corrective and recovery strategies.
The successful candidate will have strong Primavera P6 experience and a detailed understanding of construction sequencing, critical-path analysis, schedule reporting, and project controls.
Duties and Responsibilities
The Project Scheduler’s duties include, but are not limited to:
- Develop detailed baseline schedules in accordance with contract requirements and project-execution plans.
- Establish project calendars, work breakdown structures, activity codes, logic, milestones, constraints, and resource assumptions.
- Maintain and update project schedules using information provided by project and field teams.
- Monitor actual progress against approved baselines,
contractual milestones, and internal targets.
- Perform critical-path, float, variance, and schedule-risk analysis.
- Prepare weekly, monthly, and executive-level schedule reports.
- Develop two-week, three-week, and longer-term look-ahead schedules with project and field teams.
- Identify delays, sequencing conflicts, resource constraints, and schedule risks.
- Work with project leadership to prepare mitigation measures, recovery schedules, and acceleration plans.
- Facilitate schedule-review meetings with project teams, subcontractors, consultants, and clients.
- Review subcontractor schedules and confirm alignment with the overall project schedule.
- Maintain accurate records of schedule changes, progress updates, assumptions, and supporting information.
- Assist with delay analysis, extension-of-time requests, claims, change management, and contractual notices.
- Support cost-loaded and resource-loaded scheduling where required.
- Integrate procurement, design, permitting, construction, inspection, testing, commissioning, and closeout activities into the schedule.
- Support proposal teams by preparing preliminary schedules, narratives, staging plans, and milestone information.
- Ensure schedule information is clearly communicated to project stakeholders.
Qualifications
- Degree or diploma in engineering, construction management, project controls, engineering technology, or a related field.
- Minimum of five years of construction planning or scheduling experience.
- Experience scheduling heavy-civil, transit, infrastructure, sewer and watermain, structural concrete, or major construction projects.
- TTC and/or Metrolinx project experience is strongly preferred.
- Intermediate to advanced proficiency in Primavera P6 is required.
- Experience with Microsoft Project, Excel, Power BI, TILOS, Synchro, or other planning and reporting systems is considered an asset.
- Strong understanding of construction sequencing, critical-path methodology, schedule logic, float, productivity, and progress measurement.
- Experience supporting delay analysis, change management, claims, earned-value reporting, or extensions of time is considered an asset.
- Ability to interpret drawings, specifications, contracts, project plans, and scopes of work.
- Valid driver’s licence and access to reliable transportation.
