Join a growing team and contribute to the agile and complex world of Canadian capital markets.About This OpportunityCollaborate closely with colleagues and organizational leaders throughout CIRO, providing timely and practical legal advice on complex matters as they emergeHelp teams to move work forward with clear practical legal guidanceSupport CIRO’s oversight relationship with members of the Canadian Securities Administrators and help ensure CIRO meets its applicable obligationsPerform legal review of material contracts and internal corporate policiesLead or assist in policy initiatives within the GCO’s mandateRetain and instruct external counsel in corporate/commercial mattersProvide legal advice and support relating to CIRO regulatory and legal obligationsProvide legal advice and support for CIRO’s Annual General Meeting (AGM) and related corporate governance mattersWhat You BringMust-havesLaw degree and membership in good standing with the applicable provincial law societyAt least 7 years’ experience in private practice, in-house or a regulatory positionExperience in corporate commercial law, securities law and/or self-regulation in the securities industry is especially valuableA collaborative, team-oriented mindset and the ability to build strong working relationships across functionsNice to HaveFamiliarity with CIRO and the regulatory and legal framework within which it operatesKnowledge of and experience with current securities industry practices,
