Lending focuses on banking and specialty finance, where we are the middle market leaders throughout the country.ResponsibilitiesProvide timely, high quality client service that meets or exceeds client expectations, including coordinating audits of complex financial statements, related disclosures, and other client deliverablesDevelop an understanding of the client's business and needs, and become an industry specialist to address client-specific needsUnderstand and utilize RSM’s Global Audit MethodologyTrain and supervise Audit Associates on engagement teams and act as in-charge, facilitating field work by monitoring productivity and adherence to work plan schedulesAnticipate and address client concerns and escalate issues as they ariseInteract with clients to ensure efficient information flow between client and audit teamIdentify and communicate significant accounting and auditing matters to manager/senior manager and partner on engagementProvide insightful feedback on financial statements and prepare other client deliverables such as board communications and lettersRecognize industry-specific and general accounting and auditing issues, including revenue recognition, business combinations,
debt and equity accounting; determine appropriate audit approachIdentify performance improvement opportunities for team membersEnsure professional development through ongoing educationWillingness to travel 25% of the year, depending on clientsRequired QualificationsBachelor of Commerce (Accounting) degree or equivalent degree from an accredited university2 years of current or recent experience in a public accounting environmentUnderstanding of audit services with knowledge of GAAP, IFRS, and GAAS regulationsCPA Certification in good standing or demonstrated progress towards CPA certification, including required courseworkDemonstrated experience and ability to act as in-charge on engagementsWillingness to take supervision and guidancePreferred QualificationsAbility to work effectively in a fast-paced, highly collaborative environmentCritical thinking and ability to work independentlyCompensation and BenefitsWe offer a competitive advantages and compensation package. Salary range: CA$58,500 – CA$94,000.
