Join School District No. 91 as a Casual Indigenous Education Advocate focused on supporting Indigenous students in Fort St. James. Your role will enhance their cultural and academic experience.
This casual position emphasizes cultural, language, and emotional support for Indigenous students. You'll collaborate with educators and engage families to create a nurturing setting. As a role model, you will advocate for and uplift Indigenous culture while contributing to students' success.
Key Responsibilities:
• Provide cultural, language, and emotional support
• Promote pride in Indigenous culture as a role model
• Work with teachers to enhance student support
• Engage families for holistic student success
• Generate regular administrative reports for the school
Requirements:
• Completed Grade 12 (Dogwood Certificate)
• Two years of studies related to Indigenous families
• At least 6 months of relevant experience
• Knowledge of local Indigenous communities
• Valid BC Class 5 Driver’s License
