J.D. Irving, Limited (JDI) is seeking an Accountant to support the financial reporting and accounting activities of the Information Technology Division. As a corporate services function, the division supports JDI's technology landscape and provides services across its diverse operating businesses.

Reporting to the Manager of Accounting, Corporate Services, this role supports the integrity of financial reporting, maintains a strong control environment, and contributes to period-end close, audit, and internal billing processes. The successful candidate will collaborate with stakeholders across finance, technology, and operating divisions while identifying opportunities to improve processes through automation, technology, and data-driven insights.

- Support monthly, quarterly, and annual close activities, including account reconciliations, accruals, and other period-end accounting requirements.
- Prepare, analyze, and communicate financial results and reporting to support business decision-making and operational performance.
- Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting in accordance with applicable accounting standards and JDI financial policies and procedures.
- Maintain an effective control environment, support internal and external audit requirements, and identify opportunities to strengthen internal controls.




- Administer and support intercompany and internal billing processes across JDI operating divisions.
- Investigate and resolve accounting, billing, and reporting issues while building strong relationships with stakeholders across finance, technology, and operating teams.
- Identify and implement opportunities to streamline, automate, and improve accounting and reporting processes through technology and data-driven insights.
- Support finance transformation initiatives, system enhancements, and continuous improvement activities that enhance the effectiveness and efficiency of financial operations.
- CPA designation, or active pursuit of a CPA designation, is preferred.
- 3 to 5 years of progressive accounting, financial reporting, or related finance experience.
- Strong knowledge of financial reporting, account reconciliations, and internal controls.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Proven ability to manage competing priorities and collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders.
- Solid proficiency with Microsoft Excel and financial systems.
- Experience in a complex, multi-entity, or shared services environment is considered an asset.
