Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Avionics & Communication IPT Head to lead a cross-functional Integrated Product Team responsible for avionics and communication systems development, integration, verification, and certification for aircraft programs.
The ideal candidate will have 12–18+ years of aerospace/aviation experience, strong avionics system architecture and integration expertise, aircraft NPD experience, and proven IPT/team leadership experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the Avionics & Communication Integrated Product Team (IPT) and align deliverables with overall aircraft program objectives.
- Own avionics deliverables across scope, schedule, cost, quality, technical performance, and program milestones.
- Lead and coordinate multidisciplinary teams across systems, hardware, software, V&V;, certification, electrical, and integration engineering.
- Serve as a technical interface with customers, suppliers, certification authorities, and internal stakeholders.
- Define and manage avionics system architecture, including VHF/UHF, SATCOM, data links, GNSS, INS, navigation, flight control, and monitoring interfaces.
- Lead system-level trade studies, technology selection, architecture decisions, and interface definitions.
- Ensure compliance with ARP4754A, ARP4761, DO-178C, and DO-254.
- Develop and review System Requirements Documents (SRD), Interface Control Documents (ICD), and architecture documentation.
- Lead avionics integration at LRU, system, and aircraft levels.
- Oversee V&V; activities, including HIL/SIL simulation, ground testing, and flight-test support.
- Ensure interoperability across avionics, EWIS, electrical power, cockpit,
and other aircraft subsystems.
- Drive aircraft certification activities in accordance with FAA, EASA, and DGCA requirements.
- Manage certification artifacts including PSAC, PHAC, PDR/CDR reviews, compliance matrices, test plans, and reports.
- Interface with DERs, ARs, and certification authorities.
- Support proposal/RFQ responses, estimation, and technical solution development.
- Lead technical risk mitigation, configuration management, and engineering change control.
- Manage dependencies across structures, propulsion, electrical, and other IPTs.
- Lead distributed onsite/offshore engineering teams.
Required Qualifications
- 12–18+ years of Aerospace/Aviation experience
- Solid Avionics Systems Development experience
- Proven IPT Leadership / large cross-functional team leadership
- Experience with Aircraft New Product Development (NPD) programs
- Strong Avionics System Architecture & Integration experience
- Hands-on experience with DO-178C and DO-254
- Strong knowledge of ARP4754A and ARP4761
- Aircraft certification experience
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Aerospace Engineering, Avionics, Electronics & Communication, Electrical Engineering, or related discipline
