Responsibilities
- Safely operate commercial vehicles to transport freight and cargo to designated locations, adhering to all traffic laws and safety regulations
- Load and unload freight using forklifts and other heavy equipment, ensuring proper handling and securement of goods
- Conduct routine vehicle inspections and basic automotive repairs to maintain optimal vehicle performance
- Manage freight documentation accurately, including delivery receipts, manifests, and logs
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers, warehouse staff, and clients to coordinate pickups and deliveries
- Maintain a clean and organized vehicle interior and exterior for safety and professionalism
- Follow safety protocols diligently to prevent accidents or damage during transportation
Qualifications
- Valid commercial driver’s license (CDL) with a clean driving record
- Experience operating forklifts, heavy equipment, and managing freight handling
- Knowledge of automotive repair basics to troubleshoot minor vehicle issues
- Proven experience in commercial driving with a focus on safety and efficiency
- Ability to perform physical tasks such as lifting heavy loads and operating heavy machinery
- Strong communication skills for coordinating with team members and clients
- Flexibility to adapt to changing schedules or routes as needed
