Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Structural Engineer to join our engineering team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, analyzing, and managing a group of drafters to deliver foundation and steel structures for substation projects. This role requires a strong foundation in civil and structural engineering principles, proficiency with industry-standard software, and the ability to manage multiple projects.

The successful candidate will play a key role in delivering civil and structural engineering solutions for high-voltage substations and related facilities.

Duties

- Develop and review structural designs using CAD software such as AutoCAD, Revit, MicroStation, Civil 3D, and Bluebeam.
- Prepare detailed drawings, plans, and specifications for construction projects.
- Conduct structural analysis and calculations utilizing tools like Mathcad to ensure compliance with safety standards and building codes.
- Collaborate with architects, project managers, and construction teams to coordinate project requirements and timelines.




- Oversee project progress from conception through completion, ensuring adherence to design specifications and quality standards.
- Perform site inspections and assessments to evaluate existing structures and recommend necessary modifications or reinforcements.
- Manage project documentation, including reports, change orders, and technical memos.
- Assist in project management tasks such as scheduling, budgeting, and resource allocation to ensure timely delivery of projects.

Qualifications

- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related field; a Skilled Engineer (PE) license is preferred.
- Experience in the utility and power industry specifically experience designing substation and utility infrastructure projets will be an asset
- Proven experience in structural engineering design and project management within construction or civil engineering sectors.
- Proficiency with CAD software including AutoCAD, Revit, MicroStation, Civil 3D, Bluebeam, and Drafting tools.
- Strong analytical skills with experience using Mathcad for structural calculations.
- Familiarity with construction processes and building codes relevant to structural design.
- Excellent communication skills for effective collaboration with multidisciplinary teams.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail.

* Pay: $70,000.00-$90,000.00 per year
