Career Opportunities: Orthoptist - Ophthalmology (104256)Requisition ID 104256 -Posted 08/28/2026 - Allied HealthFull-Time | DaysOphthalmology ClinicHotel Dieu Hospital Site | Kingston, OntarioOPSEU 4106 Non-Central$45.07 - $54.78 per hour + benefits/pensionHelp Patients See Their World More ClearlyKingston Health Sciences Centre (KHSC) is seeking a skilled and compassionateOrthoptistto join our Ophthalmology Clinic team at the Hotel Dieu Hospital site.Working within a highly specialized ambulatory care environment, you will supportPediatric Ophthalmology and Strabismus, Adult Strabismus, and Neuro-Ophthalmology services, playing a critical role in the assessment, diagnosis, treatment, and ongoing management of patients with disorders of the visual system and eye motility.As a valued member of our multidisciplinary team, you will work closely with ophthalmologists, residents, learners, and allied health professionals while practicing independently within your qualified scope.What You'll DoPerform comprehensive ocular assessments, including history taking, visual acuity testing, refraction, sensory testing, pupil assessment, applanation tonometry, and extra-ocular muscle evaluationsInterpret test results and provide recommendations for patient treatment and managementIndependently assess patients and contribute to care planning within Orthoptic ClinicsCollaborate with ophthalmologists regarding medical and surgical treatment optionsEducate patients and families about ocular conditions and treatment plansProvide contact lens therapy and support specialized patient care needsSupport the education and training of Ophthalmology Residents,
