With local professionals in British Columbia, Ontario, Quebec and Alberta, our Canadian team is a 'Best-in-Class' national valuation platform, servicing the needs of many of the nation's largest Pension Funds, REITs, Asset Managers and major Institutions. Our expertise focuses primarily on the 'Core 4' real estate assets (Retail, Office, Industrial and Residential), with additional specialization in a number of 'alternative' asset classes.
We are currently seeking an individual for the role of Consultant (or Senior Consultant). This role would report directly to Vancouver leadership - but with the opportunity to interact and work with professionals across the country.
The successful candidate will have the experience and knowledge to contribute to all aspects of appraisal assignments, and the ability to interact with clients when needed. Applicants should be close to achieving, or have already achieved their accreditation.
Our office is looking to expand into property tax consulting services, including realty tax assessment reviews and appeals. Candidates with property tax experience will find unique opportunities to leverage their expertise alongside our core valuation appraisal services.
Responsibilities include
Preparing all aspects of an appraisal report
Involved in client meetings and presentations
Assist in responding to large client RFPs
Build and maintain strong relationships with key clients.
Conducting research and collecting data from both internal and external resources to aid in the valuation process
Working closely with senior team members to create, edit, and/or prepare market research, cash flow projections, and appraisal reports
Developing relationships both inside and outside JLL for the development of the business and to grow the service line
Providing mentorship, training, and guidance to supporting team members. When required, working with Analysts on team to complete appraisal assignments.
Continuously improving available skillset and market knowledge via participation in conferences, on-line learning, etc.
Assist in supporting and improving our valuation tools, templates, and improvement processes
Supporting property tax assessment reviews and appeals (if required)
Ability to communicate and support valuation conclusions to clients.
Any other reasonable duties and responsibilities that may be assigned
Requirements
Post-secondary education in Commerce, Economics, Business Administration, Urban Economics, Urban Planning, or Urban Geography is an asset
4+ years full-time professional experience in the commercial real estate sector
Candidacy with AIC, at minimum; (AACI) designation an asset
Demonstrated proficiency with all applicable software packages including but not limited to: Microsoft Windows; Microsoft Office (MS Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint); Adobe Acrobat
Real estate software, such as: ARGUS Enterprise, is an asset
Knowledge of key themes impacting capital markets, investment real estate, and development land
Excellent verbal and written, and interpersonal communication skills
Excellent time management and organizational skills
Able to adapt and prioritize, meeting deadlines, in a fast-paced environment
Operate with a sense of urgency, quickly responding to Stakeholders
Detail oriented with strong analytical skills
Ability to work well independently with an ability to work collaboratively with others
Must be proactive and take initiative
Must be able to maintain confidentiality, utilize judgment, and work with minimal supervision
