Shift Manager: Full-Time 6-month Contract with possibility for extension

Overview
Crisis Centre North Bay is seeking qualified individuals to join the management team overseeing Emergency Shelter services and Transitional Housing services.
The Shift Manger will report directly to the Supervisor. You will have primary responsibility for the daily management of programs and services while on shift and as part of the on-call rotation. As part of the management team, the Shift Manager will contribute to the development of policies and procedures, represent the organization professionally, monitor and promote conditions and practices that ensure the health and safety of staff and people using the services.
Hours of Operation
The Housing and Homelessness Programs operate 24 hours per day 7 days a week. As a Shift Manager, you will be required to work 35 hours per week on a rotational shift that includes days, evenings, weekends and may include some overnight shifts.
Qualifications
- College Diploma or University Degree in a relevant social service field
- A minimum of 1 year management experience in a residential/comparable setting
- Experience in staff supervision within a unionized environment is considered an asset
- Strong leadership skills are a must
- Demonstrated ability to create an inclusive and welcoming employment workplace that values everyone; respects their values, preferences and unique abilities
- Advanced verbal and written communication skills; conflict resolution, negotiation and mediation skills
- Exemplary emotional intelligence and interpersonal skills
- Demonstrated professional behavior and respect for boundaries in a diverse work environment
- Excellent judgement, problem solving skills and strong decision-making ability
- Excellent time management and organizational skills
- Knowledge of community resources related to housing, mental health and addictions, financial resources and support
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Bilingualism (French/English) is considered an asset
Rate of Pay: $34.34 - $38.15 Closing Date: September 23, 2026
