Job Overview

We are seeking an energetic and responsible Cook to join our Paths of Courage team! In this vital role, you will be responsible for preparing delicious, high-quality meals for our participants at the Paths of Courage Program in Prince Edward County. Your enthusiasm for food preparation will be helpful with the process of the participants as they focus on their healing journey. This position is for a week long program that is held 12 times per year and the attendance is up to 10 participants.

Responsibilities

- Prepare a variety of menu items with precision, ensuring consistency and quality in every dish.
- Follow established recipes and food handling procedures to maintain safety standards.
- Assist in food presentation, garnishing, and plating to enhance visual appeal.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen area, including equipment and utensils.
- Support food service operations by serving dishes promptly and courteously to guests.
- Adhere to all food safety regulations, including proper storage, temperature control, and sanitation practices.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient meal preparation during busy service times.

Qualifications

- Prior experience in food preparation, cooking,



or food service is highly preferred.
- Successful completion of an Ontario Food Handlers Certificate.
- Knowledge of food handling safety standards and sanitation protocols.
- Experience working in a restaurant or food industry setting is a strong plus.
- Ability to work independently and efficiently in a scheduled environment while maintaining attention to detail.
- Strong communication skills and a positive attitude.
- Basic understanding of meal preparation techniques and kitchen equipment operation.
- Commitment to maintaining high standards of food safety and hygiene.
