SMS Equipment is looking for a Day Porter to help ensure the Acheson and Northview facilities, yards, and common areas remain safe, clean, organized, and in good repair. This role supports daily cleaning, facility maintenance, workplace safety activities, and general operational needs.

Work Location: Acheson, AB.

Salary: $50,000 to $55,000 per annum.

Work Arrangement: Fixed on site – working from the office or customer site each day.

Schedule: Monday to Friday. This role requires regular travel between the Acheson and Northview facilities. What You'll Do:

- Restock, inventory, and complete basic maintenance on coffee stations throughout the facilities.
- Inspect facilities to identify cleaning, repair, and maintenance needs.
- Complete preventive maintenance reports and perform minor preventive and corrective maintenance as required.
- Provide cleaning services, including cleaning washrooms, wiping down high-touch surfaces, and responding to cleaning service calls.

- Maintain cleaning supply areas and monitor inventory of cleaning and facility supplies.
- Stock paper, paper towels, toilet paper, and other amenities throughout the facilities.
- Remove waste, compost, and recyclable materials from copy centres, canteens, and the mailroom.

- Operate and maintain equipment and tools such as power sweepers, floor cleaners, snow shovels, and hand tools.
- Complete daily, weekly, monthly, and annual cleaning and maintenance checklists.
- Move and set up furniture, office equipment, pictures, posters, and other facility items.

- Assist with snow removal, general labour, and minor building repairs as required.
- Support catering for internal meetings and functions,



including delivering food and beverages and providing cleanup services.
- Complete preventive maintenance inspection reports, monthly fire extinguisher checks, and quarterly updates to the Acheson seating plan.

- Complete field-level risk assessments and fall arrest plans for applicable work.
- Coordinate and oversee contractors and subcontractors when required.
- Report facility deficiencies and escalate maintenance concerns to the appropriate Facilities team member.

- Support the Facilities team with special projects and other related duties as required.

What You Bring: The successful candidate brings 3 to 5 years of experience in an industrial or commercial cleaning environment, along with strong attention to detail, clear English communication skills, and the ability to safely complete physical work. Other requirements include:

- Valid driver’s licence and ability to travel between the Acheson and Northview facilities.
- Ability to frequently lift up to 15 kilograms and complete manual labour tasks.
- Basic computer skills.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Excel and Word, and familiarity with SharePoint.
- Solid organizational skills and the ability to prioritize changing cleaning and maintenance requirements.
- Ability to work independently and respond promptly to service requests.





- Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System certification is considered an asset.
- First Aid and CPR certification are considered assets.
