Position Overview:

Reporting to the Operations Manager, the Directional Driller will be responsible for all phases of any directional drilling jobs by planning, execution, and management in order to meet or exceed client expectations. Driller must be comfortable with working in a fast-paced setting and have strong troubleshooting/problem-solving skills to excel in the position. The driller will be operating a Vermeer 2330 or 2022 paired with either a Digitrak Falcon F5 or F5+ locator.

Responsibilities:

- Adhering to Brass-specific policies and regulations
- Adhering to site-specific rules and regulations
- Conduct pre-trip/walk-around safety inspection.
- Ability to operate all equipment functions independently and safely.
- Provide technical support to clients and crew members as required.
- Adhere to proper directional drilling techniques and surveying methods.
- Manage inventory and supplies.
- Coordinate machine actions with other activities, positioning or moving of loads,



and conduct in response to hand or audio signals from team members.
- Train, coach, and mentor less experienced directional drillers
- Working as a member of the team by assisting other members when required
- Interpret stakes and signage on the land.
- Ensure all reporting requirements are fulfilled.
- Ability to work with minimal supervision.
- Ability to work in outdoor weather conditions including but not limited to extreme temperatures (heat and cold), rain, sleet, snow, wind, and/or wet/humid conditions.
- Work under stress and with a commitment to timelines and deadlines daily
- Complete client’s site-specific training as required.
- Ability to be dispatched through the local union as per the collective agreement.

Required Knowledge & Skills

- Proof of full vaccination
- Graduate from a Resource Drilling Program considered an asset
- AZ license preferred, minimum ARZ license.

- Comfortable driving manual transmissions
- Thorough knowledge of state-of-the-art drilling and surveying technologies and practices
- Proficient at reading blueprints and/or technical drawings
- Physically fit and capable of safely lifting 23 kg (50 lbs.)
- Experience drilling around utilities.
- Experience in utility construction – specifically hydro an asset

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent Pay: $36.00-$47.00 per hour

Ability to commute/relocate

- Port Perry, ON: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (preferred)
