Electrical & Instrumentation Supervisor

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Electrical & Instrumentation Supervisor to lead the electrical, instrumentation and controls function within a high-volume industrial manufacturing environment.

This role is responsible for supervising skilled trades, supporting plant reliability, coordinating planned and corrective maintenance, and providing technical leadership across electrical and automated production systems.

Key Responsibilities

- Lead and supervise electricians, instrumentation technicians and contractors.
- Coordinate daily electrical and instrumentation maintenance priorities.
- Support troubleshooting of electrical, PLC, controls and automation issues.
- Oversee preventive, predictive and corrective maintenance activities.
- Work closely with Operations, Engineering and Maintenance to improve equipment uptime and reliability.
- Support maintenance planning, shutdowns and equipment upgrades.
- Participate in root-cause analysis and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Ensure electrical work is completed safely and in accordance with site procedures and applicable regulations.
- Coach and develop trades employees while maintaining strong accountability and performance standards.

Qualifications

- 5+ years of industrial electrical, instrumentation,



controls or automation experience.
- Previous supervisory, lead-hand or front-line leadership experience in an industrial environment.
- Post-secondary education or recognized trade certification in Electrical, Instrumentation, Automation, Controls, Engineering Technology or a related technical discipline.
- Strong knowledge of industrial electrical systems, motors, MCCs and VFDs.
- Experience with PLCs, HMIs, instrumentation and automated manufacturing equipment.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving capability.
- Experience within manufacturing, processing or heavy industry.
- Robust communication and people-leadership skills.

Preferred Experience

- Wood products, pulp and paper, mining, heavy manufacturing or other continuous-process environments.
- CMMS systems such as SAP or Maximo.
- Reliability and preventive maintenance programs.
- Shutdown planning and contractor coordination.
- Electrical or controls improvement projects.
