A growing construction organization is seeking an Environmental Health and Safety Coordinator to support and strengthen EHS performance across active operations. This is an opportunity for a hands-on EHS professional to play a meaningful role in advancing their EHS programs while working closely with site teams.

In this role, you will provide coaching and guidance to help ensure safe work practices, documentation, and compliance activities are consistently carried out throughout the organization.

The Role

As EHS Coordinator, you will maintain a strong field presence while supporting the continued development and implementation of the organization’s EHS programs. You will work closely with project teams to translate requirements into practical procedures, controls, and daily habits that support productive, compliant operations.

This role combines construction EHS expertise with field inspections, incident investigation, training coordination, documentation oversight, and continuous improvement. You will work to manage recurring compliance activities, identify risks and improvement opportunities, and support the timely completion of corrective actions.

Key Responsibilities

- Conduct regular field visits and safety inspections across active work sites.
- Provide guidance and coaching to site leadership and field personnel on safe work practices, required documentation, inspections, and safety records.

- Support and lead incident and near-miss investigations, identifying root causes and recommending practical corrective actions.
- Develop, maintain, and communicate safe work procedures and site-specific controls for higher-risk construction activities.
- Support Joint Health and Safety Committee activities, including follow-up on identified concerns and corrective actions.
- Deliver current-worker orientations and coordinate required safety training and certification activities.
- Monitor and support health and safety compliance among subcontractors and other external partners working on company-managed projects.
- Assist with internal audits, compliance reviews, and broader safety-program improvement initiatives.

Qualifications

- Post-secondary education in occupational health and safety, environmental studies, or a related discipline; equivalent relevant experience will also be considered.
- Construction health and safety experience, ideally in a field-based environment supporting active projects.
- Working knowledge of construction safety requirements, safe-work practices, incident investigation, and safety documentation.
- A valid driver’s licence and willingness to travel regularly to project sites.
- An NCSO, CRSP, CRST, or comparable health and safety designation is considered an asset.
