Overview
We are seeking a passionate and experienced K-1 Teacher to join our elementary school team! Duties
- Develop and execute dynamic lesson plans aligned with early childhood education standards, incorporating literacy, math, science, arts, and physical education.
- Utilize learning technology tools to enhance classroom instruction and student engagement.
- Implement effective classroom management strategies to create a safe, inclusive, and positive learning environment.
- Conduct assessments to monitor student progress, prepare reports on learning outcomes, and adapt teaching methods accordingly.
- Collaborate with colleagues, parents, and specialists to support children with diverse needs, including those requiring special education or early intervention services.
- Mentor new teachers and provide guidance on curriculum development, behavior management, and instructional best practices.
- Integrate Montessori or other specialized educational approaches when appropriate to enrich student experiences.
- Support children’s social-emotional growth through mentoring, behavior management strategies, and fostering a nurturing classroom atmosphere.
- Engage in ongoing professional development related to childhood development, library services,
teaching physical education, and working with children with autism or other special needs.
- Ensure all instructional materials are proofread for accuracy and clarity before use in lessons or assessments.
Experience
- Proven classroom experience teaching kindergarten or early elementary students in a school setting.
- Demonstrated expertise in curriculum development across core subjects such as literacy education and math.
- Strong background in classroom management techniques that promote positive behavior and engagement.
- Experience working with children with diverse needs including special education populations or autism spectrum disorder.
- Familiarity with standardized testing procedures and tutoring strategies to support student achievement.
- Knowledge of early childhood education principles such as childhood development theories and early intervention practices.
- Proficiency in using learning technology platforms and integrating digital tools into daily lessons.
- Prior private school experience or familiarity with Montessori methods is a plus.
- Excellent communication skills for collaborating with parents, colleagues, and community partners.
- Ability to write clear lesson plans, conduct proofreading of educational materials, and contribute to education administration efforts.
