JOB SUMMARY

Reporting to the Director of Finance and Administration, the Financial and Systems Analyst is a key strategic resource supporting the Leadership Team at Algoma Family Services (AFS).

The Financial and Systems Analyst works collaboratively with the CEO, Director of Finance and Administration, HR Director, Service Directors, IT Administrator, Manager of Continuous Improvement, the Privacy Officer, and other members of the AFS Team. The Analyst supports the development, maintenance, evaluation and continuous improvement of the organization’s financial, business intelligence, information management, and reporting systems.

The Analyst manages sensitive and confidential organizational information and provides advice and recommendations informed by financial analysis, statistical information, business intelligence, forecasting, and organizational performance data. Through the provision of timely and accurate financial and statistical information to the Leadership Team, Board of Directors, funders, and the Finance and Administration team, the Analyst plays an advisory and analytical role in advancing the mission, vision, and strategic priorities of AFS.

QUALIFICATIONS

· Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Commerce, Accounting, Finance, Information Systems, Data Analytics, Statistics, Computer Science, or a related field.

· A minimum of three years’ relevant experience in financial analysis, business analysis, data analytics, information systems, performance reporting,



or a related area.

· Experience using financial, statistical, data-visualization, or business-intelligence applications, such as Microsoft Dynamics Excellent Plains, Power BI, Tableau, Cognos, SPSS, or comparable software.

· Ability to communicate effectively in both official languages, English and French, is an asset.

Applicants must possess:

· Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles.

· Expertise in the use of qualitative, statistical, and analytical methods.

· Proficiency in advanced Excel, database reporting, business-intelligence tools, and financial analysis.

· Advanced knowledge of continuous improvement, process development, program evaluation, surveys, logic models, and process-mapping methodologies.

· Strong organizational and project-support skills, including the ability to establish priorities, schedule work, complete tasks, and meet deadlines.

· Advanced communication, presentation, consultation, and engagement skills.

· Excellent report-writing skills that demonstrate research, critical thinking, and analysis.

· Superior troubleshooting and problem-solving skills, including the ability to identify opportunities for service and organizational improvement.

· Excellent interpersonal skills, including the ability to work collaboratively and establish effective working relationships at all levels within and outside the organization.

· A valid Ontario driver’s license, with the ability to travel and use a personal insured vehicle for business purposes.
