RVS encourages applications from individuals who can help shape and embody our core values of Leadership, People, Community and Innovation, and support our vision that RVS is a world-class learning organization where all students achieve their absolute best.The OpportunityRVS invites applications for a continuing, full-time (35 hrs/wk) Employee Health and Abilities Coordinatorposition starting immediately in the Human Resources department.The location of this position is at the Education Centre in Airdrie, Alberta.The Employee Health and Abilities Coordinator effectively facilitates the claims management processes for all Rocky View Schools (RVS) employees, with the goal of promoting and prioritizing employee health and wellbeing. The Employee Health and Abilities Coordinator liaises with employees, insurance providers, health care professionals, supervisors, HR team members, and other internal and external stakeholders.Responsibilities IncludeServes as the primary point of contact for employees on sick leave, extended disability, and Workers Compensation (WCB)Supports aspects of employee attendance focusing on WCB, sick leave, and extended disability leavesAdvises employees about sick leave and extended disability benefit programs, as well as early intervention,



accommodation and stay at work strategiesInitiates online sick leave and disability claims and maintains records including documenting all case related activities, health records, and claims paperwork with the utmost confidentiality and discretionRefers employees to Occupational Injury Services and arrange assessments for WCB eligible claimsMonitors all incoming medical documentation and claims related correspondenceLiaises with the internal stakeholders and appropriate insurance providers in a timely manner to ensure medical updates, return to work plans, accommodations, abilities, limitations, and/or restrictions are communicated clearlyCoordinates and monitors employee return to work plans andConducts ergonomic assessments as requiredActively reviews reports and analyzes trends to identify key employee performance indicators with reference to employee health and wellnessProactively identifies ways the work environment can be adapted to fit the capacity of employees with restrictions or limitationsSupports the ongoing development, promotion and facilitation of employee attendance and wellness programsEducation/ExperienceCertificate or diploma in disability management or related fieldMinimum of two (2) years' experience managing employee disability and/or return to work casesPrevious experience in a school division or unionized workplace is considered an assetExperience supporting employee health and wellness would be an assetKnowledge and SkillsDemonstrated ability to deal with a variety of complex and sensitive issues professionally and in a timely mannerAbility to coach and counsel employees and supervisors effectively utilizing outstanding verbal/written communication, interpersonal and public relations skillsProven ability to establish collaborative working relationships with internal and external clientsProven accuracy and consistency with data entry and case file managementHighly effective organization, prioritization, and time-management skillsAbility to successfully work in a team environment as well as independently with minimal supervisionProficient in Microsoft Office and web-based applicationsWorking knowledge of HR best practices, and applicable legislation would be considered an assetRocky View Schools Benefits3 weeks' Vacation pro-rated based on start date11 Earned Dayspro-rated based on start dateHybrid (one day a week, working remotely) with Supervisor approvalBenefits Plan (Extended health, Dental, Wellness & Health Spending Account, Tax Free Savings Account and Registered Retirement Savings Plan)Defined Benefit Pension PlanProfessional development and training opportunitiesPre-employment RequirementsThe successful candidate must submita current Criminal Record with Vulnerable Sector Check within 30 days of the start of your employment.Proof of qualifications/education as required by the position including WES/IQAS evaluation documents for completed education outside of Canada.Applicants must provide a professional letter of reference, attached to the job application, from their most recent supervisor, relevant to the job opportunity, written on company letterhead, signed and dated within the past 18 months.Rocky View SchoolsHuman Resourceshttps://www.Rockyview.Ab.Ca/careers/current_opportunitiesWe appreciate and consider all applications; however, only those candidates selected for an interview will be contacted.
