Fire Alarm Service Technician

Proudline Fire Protection is looking for an experienced service technician with CFAA or

Journeyman Electrical Ticket to work within the city of Edmonton.

The right candidate will be responsible for inspecting, testing, repairing and maintaining

Fire Alarm Systems in accordance with CAN/ULC and NFPA regulations.

We are looking for someone who:

-Has great customer service and displays professionalism

-Has the ability to build and maintain customer relationships

-Can troubleshoot and problem solve issues with a variety of manufacturers systems such as Mircom, Notifier, Simplex, Chubb, Etc.

-Is capable to document system deficiencies, recommendations and requirements on service reports

-Can operate a company vehicle and be commercially insured (clean 3-year drivers abstract)

-Focuses on being punctual, organized and efficient

-On rare occasions can work out of town for up to 3 days

How will your workday look at Proudline Fire?

-Annual Inspections of life safety systems (Fire Alarm, Emergency Lighting, Assisting other inspection staff for Sprinklers or Fire Extinguishers)

-Organize and complete repairs on all system types to maintain code acceptable operation

-Perform preventative maintenance

-Fill and Complete site documentation during inspections





-Complete scheduled service appointments and provide detailed notes

-Provide basic company vehicle maintenance (Getting oil changes, keeping the vehicle clean, maintaining vehicle inventory, routine safety checks)

-Conduct assessments and troubleshoot system faults when they arise and perform necessary repairs and verify systems are operating correctly

-Be part of the on-call rotation (once probation is completed)

Employment Requirements

-Journeyman Electrician / CFAA License (valid)

-Fire Alarm Service Experience

-Drivers License (valid)

-Drivers Abstract (3 years)

-Fall Protection / Lift Tickets (not required but preferred)

-First Aid Ticket

-WHMIS Certificate

-CSTS 2020 Certificate

Expected Wages

Wages are negotiable based on experience and training the applicant has received.

Average starting wage is $36.00 to $38.00 per hour.

-Vision Coverage; after probationary period

-Vacation pay; 10% on each pay period

-For on-call technicians: $235 per week standby; Minimum 4.5 hours on callout
