Position: Floor Supervisor - Afternoons

Location: Smithville, On

Reports to: Operations Manager The Floor Supervisor provides hands-on leadership on the production floor by supervising staff, managing attendance, coordinating workflow, supporting productivity, and addressing employee relations or performance concerns in partnership with the Operations Manager. The role also participates in daily production activities to help ensure safe, efficient operations, product quality, traceability, sanitation, and timely order fulfillment.

Key Responsibilities

- Maintain a consistent daily presence on the production floor and manage attendance;
- Supervise production staff to help coordinate workflow, maintain productivity, and support adherence to workplace procedures;
- Address employee relations matters and performance concerns as they arise, documenting and reporting issues to the Operations Manager for appropriate follow-up;
- Operate a BEL boxing machine to package products efficiently and maintain consistent production flow;
- Monitor and record lot codes to support product traceability, inventory accuracy, and quality-control requirements;
- Pick, organize, and assemble customer orders accurately to meet daily shipping and fulfillment targets;
- Safely operate a pallet jack to move materials, finished goods, and orders;
- Assist with loading trucks as needed, ensuring product is handled safely and prepared for timely shipment;




- Perform general labour duties throughout the production area, as assigned;
- Assist with the processing, handling, packaging, and movement of meat and finished products;
- Operate production equipment and machinery according to company procedures and safety protocols;
- Load, unload, move, sort, weigh, and organize products and materials;
- Thoroughly check products for quality, and ensure accurate product sizing, weight, appearance, and packaging according to established product standards;
- Follow established production procedures, food safety requirements, equipment effectiveness and safety guidelines, and all other workplace policies and procedures;
- Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary work area throughout the shift;
- Perform cleanliness and sanitation duties on tools, knives, equipment, and production areas;
- Complete required paperwork, labels, production records, and quality checks;
- Work efficiently to meet production schedules and daily targets;
- Report equipment issues, product quality concerns, safety hazards, or other problems to a supervisor immediately;
- Work cooperatively with other production employees and departments; and
- Other related duties as required.

Qualifications:




- Minimum of 2-3 years of proven supervisory experience in a plant production workplace;
- Ability to lead from the floor and is comfortable getting directly involved with employee relations, when required;
- Ability to perform manual lifting6854 of up to 50 lbs;
- Ability to stand for long periods of time and perform repetitive tasks;
- Ability and willingness to learn and take direction from supervisors;
- Ability to safely operate equipment;
- Commitment to product safety, quality, and workplace safety standards;
- Ability to work independently, as part of a team, and solve problems as they arise; and
- Previous production line experience in a food manufacturing environment is considered an asset.

Work Environment & Conditions:
- Onsite production workplace in Smithville, ON
- 8-hour afternoon shift, Monday to Friday
- Use of PPE and safe handling practices required
- The role involves exposure to environmental conditions, including hot and cold temperatures; and
- The role requires regular lifting, loading, unloading, standing, reaching, and repetitive tasks.
