Job Summary:
The Foundry Trainee is an entry level position that allows the worker an opportunity to pursue a career in foundry work and post for the many operational jobs within the organization as they become available. The position performs all tasks involved in the production of the company’s products. The position follows standard work methods and practices safe work habits to ensure production is as efficient and safe as possible. Previous experience as a foundry worker is preferred but not necessary.
Job Responsibilities:
Tools/Equipment Operated
· Overhead Crane
· Fork lift
· Bob Cat
· Sledge hammer
· Shovel
· Broom
Materials Handled:
Molten steel
Moulds (40 – 15,000lbs)
Cast product (10 – 10,000lbs)
Job Duties: General cleanup of Foundry area.
Shake out moulds.
Skim molten metal.
Make greensand.
Steady ladle during pouring.
Other duties as required to support the moulding and coremaking staff.
Credentials and Experience
Foundry experience preferred.
Compensation and Benefits:
Salary for this position is based on experience and increases with experience and education completed. The company offers a comprehensive educational reimbursement program which allows for those with experience to achieve certifications required for this position. The health and dental benefits would begin upon 3 months of employment. PPE required is provided by the company.
