At JBS Canada, our people are our greatest asset. We are very proud to have a team of high achieving, engaged employees. We are currently seeking the General Maintenance - Door Technician to join our team at our main processing facility in Brooks, AB.
GENERAL MAINTENANCE/DOOR TECHNICIAN-BROOKS, AB You will:
R epairs, adjusts, and maintains industrial overhead doors, dock levelers, and various commercial or residential doors to ensure facility safety and security.
Troubleshoot, repair, and install industrial sectional doors, rolling steel doors, and high‑speed fabric doors.
Safely adjust, wind, and replace heavy‑duty counterbalance torsion springs and cables.
Inspect and repair mechanical, hydraulic, and air‑powered dock levelers, vehicle restraints, and dock seals/shelters.
Execute scheduled safety inspections on high‑traffic loading docks to prevent operational downtime and ensure safety compliance.
Support production supervisors, team leads and operators to reach daily targets
Keep accurate maintenance records/documentation
Follow all safety procedures in accordance to company policies
Work as part of a team to ensure all targets are met
You have
Minimum 2+ years’ experience in commercial/industrial construction
Experience in servicing commercial overhead doors and industrial loading dock equipment considered an asset
Ability to work at heights (on ladders or scaffolding) and lift up to 75 pounds.
Strong understanding of safety regulations, including Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures for motorized equipment.
Mechanical or Carpenter diploma or certificate. Equivalent experience will be considered
Ability to troubleshoot and repair mechanical components
Use of hand tools, power tools and machine shop equipment
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to work near moving mechanical parts.
The employee may be exposed to wet, dry, hot, cold/refrigerated or humid, high noise environments
