Cullen Diesel Power Ltd., Kamloops is hiring for Heavy Duty / Automotive Mechanic. Also open to Automotive /Engine Journeyman applicants willing to train towards Commercial Transport Heavy Duty Mechanic certification.
Cullen Diesel Power Ltd., is a distributor and dealer for diesel powered engines, transmissions and equipment lines in British Columbia for over 100years. We supply products, parts and service to the mining, forestry, trucking, construction, and marine industries.

This position includes work in all areas of the workshop and may also include field work on mining, marine, logging, generator-set, and on-highway trucks. We are also willing to train the right candidate with an Automotive or Engine Journeyman background toward obtaining Commercial Transport Heavy Duty Mechanic certification.
Shift: Based on Collective Agreement.
The successful candidate will be asked to participate in Basic First Aid Training.
DESIRABLE QUALITIES:
- Presentable in appearance as customer contact will be essential.
- Positive attitude conducive to valuable customer relations and a co-operative working environment.
- Ability to make decisions in the field, assertive, self-motivated, and attentive to detail.
APPLICANT MUST HAVE THE FOLLOWING QUALIFICATIONS:
- Ability to follow direction.
- Extensive engine overhaul experience.
- Must be fully experienced in troubleshooting and repair of 2- and 4-cycle engines.
- Extensive experience troubleshooting mechanical and electronic controls issues.
- High Horsepower (S-2000/4000) Tier I & II troubleshooting, repair, and overhaul experience or ability to achieve certification.
- Must be fully experienced and able to troubleshoot any problems within our product line.
- Ability to write complete, detailed, and accurate service reports is essential.
- Must be experienced and able to troubleshoot on/off-highway transmissions (Eaton, Allison experience an asset).
- Applicant must participate in all company-directed training.
- Have MVI certification or willing to acquire.
- Have a Class 3 driver’s license with air brake endorsement (preferable: Class 1).
- Applicant must be aware that they will be required to be on call on weekends as required.
- Applicant must be aware that safety indoctrination is site specific and must be completed before entering the site. All sites require drug and alcohol testing prior to entry; all safety rules and testing must be abided by at all times.
- This position can be very demanding and can involve long workdays.
- Must be available for outside jobs and ready to go on short notice.
