For over 60 years, Preszler Injury Lawyers has restricted its practice to claims arising from motor vehicle accidents, slip/trip and falls, product liability, sexual assault, wrongful dismissal, accident benefits, disability claims, and medical malpractice. Preszler Injury Lawyers exclusively represents Plaintiffs.

About the Role

We are seeking an organized, service-oriented, and hands-on HR Manager to join and strengthen our HR department. The successful candidate will support day-to-day HR operations and people initiatives in a fast-paced professional environment while providing practical guidance to employees and managers throughout the employment lifecycle.

This is a hybrid position requiring attendance at our Toronto office at least three days per week. The ideal candidate will bring broad HR generalist experience, sound judgment, strong organizational skills, and experience in a legal or professional services environment.

This position is for an existing vacancy.

Key Responsibilities

- Manage end-to-end recruitment, including job postings, candidate screening, interview coordination, offers, and reference checks
- Coordinate onboarding and offboarding, including documentation, system access, checklists, and orientation
- Provide timely and practical HR support to employees and managers regarding policies, forms, workplace concerns, and next steps
- Support performance management processes, including coaching, documentation, action plans, and follow-up
- Manage employee relations matters, maintain accurate documentation, and escalate legal or high-risk issues to senior leadership or external counsel as appropriate
- Maintain accurate HR records, trackers,



and reports with a high level of confidentiality and attention to detail
- Support perks administration, workplace accommodations, leaves of absence, and the preparation of employment-related letters
- Coordinate training, employee engagement initiatives, and internal HR communications
- Review and update HR policies and practices to support compliance with applicable employment legislation and organizational needs
- Identify opportunities to improve HR processes, tools, reporting, and the overall employee experience
- Perform other duties as required to support the HR department and the firm

Qualifications & Skills

- Minimum three years of progressive HR experience in a generalist or similar role
- Working knowledge of Ontario employment standards, human rights obligations, and HR best practices
- Strong written and verbal communication, relationship-building, and management skills
- High attention to detail, sound judgment, and the ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and confidentiality
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Experience in a legal or professional services environment is an asset
- CHRP or CHRL designation, or active progress toward a designation, is an asset
