Position Type: Full-Time Permanent (in-office)

Location: North York, ON

Hours of Work: 37.50 hours per week

Compensation: $60,000 to $70,000 per annum

Benefits: Full time positions are eligible for vacation, paid-sick days, as well as health and RRSP benefits.

About Us:

Reconnect Health Services is a not-for-profit health service organization in the west end of Toronto. Our services include supports for seniors, caregivers, and people living with mental health and addictions concerns. We pride ourselves on being at the forefront of client-centred care in our sector.

The Human Resources Generalist works collaboratively with the Manager, Human Resources to ensure that all human resources planning, processes, compensation and benefits, learning and development, and employee and labour relations issues are delivered in effectively and efficiently. The Human Resources Generalist is accountable to facilitate the effective delivery of human resources related services to management and employees.

What You'll Do:

You will be entrusted with a wide range of responsibilities, including:

- Ensures that the human resources information system (HRIS) is accurate, complete and up-to-date;
- Ensures that human resource files and records are maintained in accordance with legislative requirements and Reconnect policies and procedures;
- Prepares formal communication to employees for the Director’s review.




- Provides support to Management through interpretation of the collective bargaining agreements;
- Manages the employee leave of absence and accommodation process in compliance with applicable legislation;
- Manages all WSIB claims and liaises with all parties involved in the process;
- Works closely with management on handling employee relations matters, including conducting and resolving internal investigations;
- Works with and coaches management on employee performance management matters
- Supports employee programs and partnerships
- Manages Reconnect’s student placement program, including promotion of the program, hiring, training and maintaining partnerships with educational institutions;
- Manages and supports Reconnect's volunteer program.
- Manages and administers the employee benefit plans and reconciles monthly statements to ensure accuracy of information;
- Provides back up support for full cycle recruitment processes;
- Supports all health and safety related initiatives;
- Supports the Director with labour relations activities, including but not limited to the coordination of collective bargaining negotiations, grievances, arbitrations and other labour related matters;
- Helps to ensure organization wide compliance with policies, procedures and applicable regulations;
- Assists with regular research and compliance initiatives regarding Human Resource issues.

What We're Looking For: To thrive in this exciting role, we seek candidates with:

- University degree and/or Community College Diploma in Human Resources Management;
- CHRP designation or actively working towards the designation;




- Minimum three years of work experience within the scope of Human Resources, preferably in a Healthcare and unionized environment
- Minimum three years of disability management experience, specifically managing leaves of absence and accommodations in accordance with applicable legislation;
- Ability to set priorities and manage multiple responsibilities and meet timelines while maintaining a strong customer focus with minimal supervision
- Experience within the non-profit sector;
- Proficiency with using MS Office;
- Able and willing to learn new software applications;
- Knowledge of the Ontario Employment Standards Act, 2000, Occupational Health & Safety Act and Human Rights Code;
- Strong interpersonal skills and able to relate well with others.
